About Bifanas Vovo

The Name
In Portuguese, “vovó” means grandmother. A bifana is Portugal’s most loved street food — thin pork steaks in a spiced sauce, served in crusty bread. Put them together and you get Bifanas Vovo: grandmother’s bifanas. The kind of food that’s been made the same way for generations, because it didn’t need fixing.
The Story
We started in 2024 with a food truck and a simple goal: bring real Portuguese street food to Belgium. Not a watered-down version for tourists. The real thing — bifanas, pregos, made from scratch with proper spice blends and good meat.
We’re a first-generation family operation based in Brussels and Wallonia. No investors, no franchise. Just us and the truck.

Where We Cook
You’ll find us at festivals like Brussels Food Festival, LaSemo, Trolls et Légendes, and Braderie De Wand. We also cater private events — weddings, corporate gatherings, birthdays. If there’s a crowd and they’re hungry, we’ll be there.
Spicy Mundi
People kept asking us what we put on the meat. So we started selling the spice blends we use on the truck. That’s Spicy Mundi — our line of spice blends, born from the food truck kitchen, now available for home cooks. Same blends, same flavour. See the blends →
